Wow, I honestly didn't see this coming despite hearing for quite some time about his health... he just seemed like the type that would stick around forever, through whatever.
RIP George.

RIP. I'm sure they will do a tribute before the ASG tonight and the Yankees will do their own at some point, too.
It's a shame that Steinbrenner didn't have a chance to take in one last All-Star Game.

RIP, Mr. Steinbrenner
Well, at least George is now up in heaven, firing Billy Martin.

He goes out a winner.
RIP to the best owner the Yankees will ever have.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.
Ah, give me something clever to say here.
Onion article title.

RIP to Steinbrenner. He was a great owner. Sure, he never had to worry about losing his desired profit margin, but the same is true for Donald Sterling, and look how Steinbrenner was a winner while Sterling will always be a loser in terms of on-court/field achievements.
When you think about the Yankees value from when he bought them to now, or even YES, it shows that he too was a pretty smart businessman as well.

Another bit of bad news for the Yankees. First Bob Sheppard, then the Boss.
RIP Bob and Boss.
