Baseball Slant Jose Lima dies of a heart attack

    R.I.P. Lima Time.

Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes reports that former major league pitcher Josa Lima has passed away due to a massive heart attack.

"Lima Time" was last seen in the majors back in 2006, when he allowed 22 runs in four starts with the Mets. He played in the big leagues for 13 years and always brought an unmistakable flair to the pitching mound. The right-hander left the majors with an 89-102 lifetime record, a 5.26 career ERA and a 1.39 career WHIP. He was 37.

Holy shit. Forever a legend for the first Dodger playoff win in 16 years. RIP, Lima.

He was a very entertaining player to watch. His antics were sometimes annoying, but will be missed.
    RIP, Jose.

For a guy with a losing record, only 89 wins, and was as well known and talked about as Lima was... he sure knew how to play the hype game. He was annoying at times but usually more amusing. Hard to forget Lima Time.

Hard to believe that Lima's baseball-reference page isn't sponsored. Only $10. Career stats: 89-102, 5.26 ERA, 235 starts, 9 complete games, 1567.2 innings, 980 strikeouts. In 2000, he led the league in home runs allowed with, get this, 48 home runs allowed. 48! He was also a one-time All-Star in 1999, finished 4th in the Cy Young voting behind only Randy Johnson, Mike Hampton and Kevin Millwood.

Wow, for 10 bucks B/S could have a great spot on baseball reference.
    I say we do it.
    I'll donate to the cause.

    RIP sweet prince.

I was stunned when I heard, so young. He ranks right up there with some of the great characters in the game.
