    Salary floor is stupid.

It's nice in theory but it wouldn't work in practice.

If an owner wants to be cheap he's going to be cheap.

The only thing a salary floor would do is cause a cheap owner to give an inflated contract to some random scrub so he can meet the requirement. And now that this random scrub is being over paid agents have precedent to say their good player is worth that much more.

I demand a salary lounge and bathroom.

I would rather that be the case with players getting the money, rather than the owner putting the money in his pockets and/or not re-investing it in the team.

I would rather neither happen, but if I'm forced to choose I'd rather the owner have the money than some scrub player who isn't worth it.

For starters, it doesn't fix the real problem because the hypothetical cheap owner isn't any more worried about fielding a winner than he was before the inception.

And the real problem is the second part I mentioned.

I wouldn't want Adrian Gonzalez's contract demands to be able to spike up that much more because David Glass decides to sign Doug Mientkiewicz to 9 mil/year to meet a requirement.
