GF, you are 100% correct on that. I think many people are quick to choose the path of the majority. I remember exactly where I was when McGwire broke the record. And I remember exactly where I was when Bonds did. They were both monumental moments in the game's history.

Canseco's book sparked the creation of a new fan. Bonds just happened to be the catalyst of hatred simply because he was breaking the record when this new fan tantrum erupted.

I do feel sorry for Bonds in that he had to face it head on while still in the public eye and still breaking records. It was a bad era for baseball and more than anything else, I blame the ones who started it. And that very well could be McGwire and Canseco.

I have to praise the ones who chose not to use steroids above all, but, although tainted, I still greatly appreciate Bonds' records.

Maybe you should re-read my post, I said if your not going to allows these guys(McGwire, Bonds and ect) based "lying" and unproven evidence that showed PED helped their numbers, then you should kick out all the liars, cheaters who are already in the Hall.

His whole career? The guy hit 49 homers a rookie...a clean rookie. He admitted to taking them, but also said he had good / bad seasons before and while on them. I think that if he ever gets in it will be toward the end of his eligibility.

No, while he was in Boston before he went to the Dodgers. I think he was clean in Cleveland. I never said for Manny's whole career...just during Boston. That it was ridiculous for Red Sox fans to think he only did it for the first time once he got to the Dodgers a few months later.
