It appears that it will be Andy Pettitte vs. Pedro "Man of Intrigue" Martinez for game 6 of the World Series. The Yankees lead the series 3 games to 2. And hey, this poll will actually end before the game starts thanks to the off-day. There won't be any after-the-fact voters this time!

Do the Yankees wrap up their 27th title or do the Phillies force a game 7 for Thursday?

Does anyone consider Pettitte a hall of fame candidate?

Whether you do or not, if he nails down game 6, does further make his case or does he not have a chance?

On the flip side, if Pedro has a good game 6 and helps extend the series, there's no way of keeping him out of the Hall.

Pedro is already a lock for the Hall of Fame as one of the 10 best pitchers of the last, like, 40 years or so.

I'm going with the Phillies in this one. Can't stop the Ut-train, you can only hope to contain him. Plus the Yankees throw out a guy going on three days rest for the third straight game, it's not looking good.

Like most games with the Yankees, get to the starter first and you have a much better chance of walking away with a W. Girardi will have an itchy trigger finger to go with Mariano Rivera to close this out (and rightly so), so the Phillies will need to get to Pettitte obviously.

Either way, it should be a great game. I am predicting that the Phillies win 5-4. Pedro pitches solid, the Philly bullpen is a little shaky, and Pettitte pitches like an older starter on short rest. But I really just want a game 7.

I think running Pettitte out on short rest is a mistake. I guess that's why Girardi gets the big bucks though.

The options for ending polls are only in whole days. I posted this yesterday morning so it would either end 1 day later (before noon today) or 2 days (or more) later, which would have been after the game. Many of the other polls ended up being open when the games were over due to no off-day. People voted after the games were over. There wasn't much choice. Ending it before the game started was the only logical choice.
