    The only point of the lead in is to separate Vin Scully from the team he commentates for so as to highlight his greatness without attaching him to a team someone may or may not like.

    You're getting your panties in a bunch over an innocent lead-in that had no malicious intent involved.

    The term said "love or hate" it's meant to put the highlight on Vin and not the team he commentates for and nothing more.
