My first guess, San Diego ships Heath Bell to someone in need of a closer. I'll say Florida.

The Red Sox are in full pursuit of 1B Adrian Gonzalez.

The Padres are shopping Heath Bell and he could be added to a Gonzalez deal... if the Red Sox are willing to deal youngster Daniel Bard.

The Marlins are also in the mix for Bell.

Sources told the Boston Globe that the Red Sox and Padres were still talking about Adrian Gonzalez on Thursday night and likely would continue discussions up until the deadline.

According to the Globe, Clay Buchholz, Lars Anderson, Jed Lowrie, Ryan Westmoreland and Justin Masterson are among those being discussed. Gonzalez's name has also come up in talks with the Marlins, though their primary target is believed to be Heath Bell. Jul. 31 - 12:32 am et
