They look pretty solid in the field as well.

Felix, Carlos Zambrano, Galaragga. Then you get to Carlos Silva. Hilarity ensues.

I've been watching Australia v. the Mariners tonight and do not see them doing much in the tournament. They are in a tough region. They are winning 11-9 going into the bottom of the 9th. Lets see what the Ausies have for a closer.

I think Australia would be better if the M's stopped being pussies and let Roland-Smith pitch for them. But other than that they aren't great. But they did win 11-9 over the M's, which makes me feel real grand going into this season.

The Netherlands are pounding the Dominicans right now.

3-2 Netherlands after 6 innings. This Cordemans guy for the Dutch is impressive.

Hey, our lineup isn't half bad. We have a middle of the lineup which includes Russell Martin, Joey Votto, Justin Morneau, Jason Bay, Matt Stairs and Mark Teahen. I had no idea that all these guys agreed to play.

Enjoy the WBC Adam Dunn, it's the last time you'll be playing with talent.

The Netherlands-Dominican game and the USA-Canada games are why the WBC needs to happen like it does every 3 years, the quality has been good, the energy in the Bell Centre in Toronto is unreal. This is one of the best atmospheres I've seen in Canada for baseball in a long time.

JJ Putz will be the reason the USA goes home. Even if he survives this game he'll blow one in the future...he isn't even the closer on his own MLB team...
