    Giants NL Cy Young

Giants ace Tim Lincecum wins NL Cy Young Award - MLB - Yahoo! Sports

NEW YORK (AP)—Tim Lincecum won the National League Cy Young Award by a comfortable margin Tuesday, taking home pitching’s highest honor in his second major league season.
The slender kid with the whirling windup joined Mike McCormick (1967) as the only San Francisco Giants pitchers to win a Cy Young.
Lincecum received 23 of 32 first-place votes and 137 points in balloting by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. Brandon Webb of the Arizona Diamondbacks got four first-place votes and finished second with 73 points.
Good Job in taking Morrow over this guy. I'm glad that we are so smart.

Micheal Wilbon just made himself look ridiculous on PTI for saying Lincecum didn't deserve a first place vote and was tired of his colleagues for constantly getting things wrong. He thought Brandon Webb should have won because he had 22 wins in a time where 22 wins is hard to get.....even though Cliff Lee just did it himself. Wilbon sees the wins and ignored everything else. Congrats on being ignorant!

Lincecum would have notched 25 wins if he played for a better team, at least.

I am truly shocked Lincecum won. He completely deserved it and it defies logic that the voters can look past win totals and focus on the statistics that the pitchers are more responsible for with their individual performance (granted defense comes into the equation among other factors, but nonetheless you get the point.)

    Congrats Giants fans.

Rick Reilly suggested voters dipped into Ricky Williams stash.
    He's every bit as wrong.

Wilbon normally goes to statistics, except in this instance, he makes fun of voters and accuses them of having Bill James in their back pocket. He just made himself out as a hypocrit. Perhaps one of the worst segments of PTI ever. I would have easily expected more out of them, but apparently winning 20 games is the only Cy Young credential. Neither said he'd be in their top four.

I don't get it at all, the numbers completely back and support Lincecum as a winner.
