MLB MLB Network Launches In Two Days!!!

Nothing like bringing in the new year like the launch of a all baseball network. I for one am very excited to see what this MLB Network will be like. Former players Harold Reynolds, Al Leiter and Joe Magrane will be on air personalities for the new channel. MLB Network will only have 26 live games in its first year but now we don;t have to wait till 11pm to get our baseball highlights!! I want to know your thoughts about the new, all-baseball channel.

I just hope that they do a good job in balancing the current and the historical times of baseball. Also I hope they do a more extensive scouting report on the upcoming drafts.

It seems nice but won't find out until it's launched and we can see how it is.

Any word on if they are going to show any minor league games, maybe even a college game or two.

Thats one thing I love about the NHL network, a little ECHL, and college game to go with the pros. The NBA is doing the same thing, except the NBDL, is wel....

All it says is 26 live games and then they have a show that has live look-ins of games. They will also have a 30 teams in 30 days special that will cover your teams in depth. That will be a good look at the minor leaguers.

They will also show a lot of classic games, which should be fun and interesting to watch.

It will exceed any other cable TV launch by approximately 20 million homes. It will be distributed across 43 cable and satellite systems on expanded digital basic cable or the equivalent. It will be available on major systems, including Comcast, Cox, Direct TV, Time Warner, Charter, Cablevision and Verizon FiOS. As of Dec. 1, there were 43 multiple system operators carrying the MLB Network. "If you have digital cable," Petitti said, "you're going to get the Network."
Could this mean it's going to be in the basic package for most cable and satellite subscribers? I mean, I know that any cable/satellite company that has MLB Extra innings has a percentage of ownership of MLB Network, but i never imagined it'd be free...

I can't wait until a game day for the MLB Network. Looking at their preview's that they are showing in pre-launch stuff is staggering.

I for one was extremely pissed off that my cable company has not picked this up yet. It says "TBD" when you check to see if it is available in your area. I will be *****ing to the cable company all day today

So, it seems well done, I'm watching a show called "Inside the Moments" now, which goes in depth behind the scenes for certain moments in baseball history. Kinda cool.
