Yes, baseball games are long. What kills me is football games are just as long and often times just as boring, but you never really hear people bitch about that. I like both sports so this isn't an anti-football post. I just find it funny because there are just as many stoppages and delays in football. The 4th quarter alone can be the most boring part if a team is up by 10 points or more. The team ahead will just milk the clock for all it's worth. That's well within their right, but hardly fast-paced excitement.

Amen! I've been saying this for years. ESPN is really starting to piss me off with their anti-baseball mentality. Rick Reilly just sucks out loud

The only difference between the two is people aren't tackling each other and/or running all the time when the action is going.

The whiners want to talk about game stopages and lack of action between plays but, as you pointed out, both exist in football just as much.

The only inherent difference is, while in baseball you can concievably be inactive during a play and definitely during many of the pitches (if you're not the pitcher or catcher) in football everybody's moving during every play.

I'm not saying that makes it more or less exciting. That's just the inherent difference.

Basketball has a ton of stoppages as well. Especially if it's a close game.

Even freaking soccer has a ton of stoppages.

I don’t mind the game stoppages in baseball especially since I usually sit within view of the bull pen any lull and you can what their shenanigans…
