I'm honestly not sure if I'm an opponent or a proponent of Questec, but one thing is for certain, I think it should be universal one way or another.
Some parks have it, some don't.
I think it's silly that it's not universal.

I'd rather they all NOT have it than they do, since it doesnt seem to stop umpires screwing up balls and strikes anyways.

Yes Questec is designed for the rule book strike zone and it has done wonders.
ERAs in Questec parks are lower than in non-Questec parks. It is working. The system, used in 13 stadiums this year, is already doing its job by helping umpires call a uniform strike zone based on the rule book

Like I said, the ERAs in Questec parks are lower than non-Questec parks. Pitchers like lower ERA's. This all goes to getting the games called correctly like instant replay. Lower ERAs and more strikes being called in Questec parks helps the flow of the game and helps get the calls correct. Umpires are being graded on this and their raises depend on it.
Alright fellas...I'm kind of lost and don't get this whole Questec thing. From what I've read it sounds like its a thing to help umpires with their balls and strikes calls. Can someone help me understand this a little better? Thanks

You're right. Its a system in 13 ballparks that help grade umpires on their balls and strikes.
What is it though, is it like a machine? Like how does it help them improve their calls?

This can better explain than I can. They also use this technology in tennis.
