If Joe Girardi got the Manager of the Year award for coaching a just below .500 team, then his .500 record with the Yankees ought to make him Manager of the Decade, right?

See, I believe that it's still early, so I don't think any of the teams at or above .500 can get this vote(even though the Mets and Yankees have been very disappointing). I think the term disappointment has to do with the expectations, and of those other teams, the Tigers had way higher expectations. They were chosen as World Series favorites by many experts. They have improved lately, however, they are still having a greatly disappointing year.

How exactly are the Giants an option on this pool to be considered as one of the most disapointing teams?

They were expected to be in the basement and have disappointed the fans of the other NL West teams by not being there.

Much like Pittsburgh disappointing America by winning 15 games this soon.

    Tigers, being pretty obvious

Rockies, Tulo-Jimenez-Morales-Corpas suffering the sophomore slump all together (but that's impressive in itself)

Reds, can't capitalize on good and young starting pitching, signing a good closer and hiring a GM who has won in the past (I'm not saying they hired a great manager but he's certainly better than most of their recent adventures)

Good point about the Rockies. Tulo is hurt, Jimenez can't throw strikes, and Corpas is throwing meatball sandwhiches to the dish.

I had to go with in the National League the Milwaukee Brewers. I actually thought they would be several games above .500 at this point and right there in the division. They have a great young lineup, but I guess pitching injuries have plagued them so far.

The A.L. I would say the Seattle Mariners. Another team I thought would be right there in there division. With the aquisition of Bedard and players like Ichiro and Jojima and Lopez I really thought they would be performing over .500 at this point.

Mariners and Tigers are my only choices.

Both were overhyped, both have failed.

Tigers, hands down. Most of the other teams are starting to show life and/or find the missing pieces. The Tigers won't solidify their presence until Verlander shows that he can be pitcher that he knows he is. Once he takes command and starts pitching better, then I think the Tigers as a whole will start performing better.

Tigers are my pick. OVER-RATED. Lots of talent offensively, but pitching is no good.
