Arizona could have had him back, but thankfully, Randy Johnson never wanted to be a Dodger.

Three pitchers for an average catcher? (and he was only average with the Twins) didnt make sense then.
No, A.J. at the time had a career BA over .300 and was an All Star. He was above average. Bonser was not thought very highly of and Liriano was viewed as hit or miss. He was only in A ball. It was dumb to trade Nathan since the Giants had no real closer at the time but at the time was not viewed as a closer. Boy were they dead ****ing wrong. Point was the Giants needed a catcher and Pierzynski was one of the best at the time. Again, if the Giants knew he had no work ethic and was a cancer in the clubhouse, he would still be a Giant. He was second in RBI among NL catchers with the Giants. The year before he was traded he hit .312 with a OBP of .360 and 74 RBI. Exactly what the Giants needed.

Where should i begin on the M's

    Varitek and Lowe for Slocumb

How bout Jose Cruz Jr for Mike Timlin, Paul Spoljaric and some other scrub (All three couldnt save a game in A ball)

Im sure the great Ken Griffey Jr for Mike Cameron, Brett Tomko, and 2 others that remain nameless was a barnburner.

Hey didnt we trade for Mike Morse, Jeremy Reed and Miguel Olivo, score

But hey Randy Johnson for Freddy Garcia, John Halama and Carlos Guillen had its moments.

Fred McGriff (Yankees) for Dale Murray and Tom Dodd was god awful.
Fred McGriff (Padres) for Melvin Nieves, Donnie Elliott, and Vince Moore.
Mike Piazza to the Marlins was just a mess.

    Bad Indians trades:

Rocky Colavito to Detroit for Harvey Kuenn. Yeah, it swapped the home run co-champ (Colavito) for the batting champ. Colavito went on to slug over 30 homer four times and made three All-Star teams for the Tigers and later the Kansas City Athletics.

Kuenn only played one year in Cleveland before beind delt for an aging Johnny Antonelli and Willie Kirkland.

The Indians also traded Tommy John, Luis Tiant, and Lou Pinella away and got little in return.

Then there was the time the Indians traded Hari Chiti to the Mets, noly to get him back as the player to be named later.

The Indians also traded players such as Craig Nettles, Dennis Eckersley, Buddy Bell, and the 1971 ROTY Chris Chambliss for players who made no impact.

Uh, no. Trading a Hall of Fame catcher is never a good idea, but at least Gary Sheffield was our best hitter. Trading Sheffield for Brian Jordan and Odalis Perez was worse.

Here's one: Ken Griffey, Jr. for Mike Cameron, Brett Tomko, Antonio Perez, and Jake Meyer.

    Good one, M's!

Not like the Mariners had much of a choice since Griffey pretty much held them hostage.

His only claim to fame was he had a 4 home run game while there. Other than that, he WASN'T Griffey.

At least he played during his years in Seattle while Griffey was constantly on Cincy's DL.
