    Re: MLB's Worst, Position-By-Postion

    1B — Kevin Millar, Orioles

Last season, the 36-year-old Millar hit .254 AVG/.365 OBP/.420 SLG, while the average major-league first baseman hit .276 AVG/.357 OBP/.463 SLG. Millar took his walks, but that's about all he did in 2007. Throw in the fact that he's a liability with the glove and on the bases, and you've got a player who would be best deployed as nothing more than a pinch-hitter against lefties.

    Did they miss Richie Sexson.

MSL: St Louis Cardinals 2013-present (2734-2936 regular season, 5 division titles, 2 championships)
    TSSL: Seattle Mariners 2006-2029, Pittsburgh Pirates 2030-present (209-277, 5 division titles w/SEA, 1 championship w/SEA)

Jeese, Durham actually had a solid season.. enough for Milwaukee to buy and reduce Weeks' playing time.

Kendall and Millar were decent too. Write in votes for Andruw Jones or Brad Wilkerson, anyone?

So if Lincecum injures his arm next year and play through it and it shows on his performance are you going to complain that he's inconsistent?

    2004 - 2.27
    2005 - 2.88
    2006 - 4.09
    2007 - 2.54
    2008 - 2.85

    That's consistent.

Considering it will only be Lincecum's second full season, no. Only a fool will say that especially if he is compared to someone more consistent. Lincecum with a bad arm is still like a 3.50 ERA

They didn't reduce his playing time enough.

What an asinine, ill informed thing to say.

Lincecum with a bad arm could very well be a 6.82 ERA for all you know.

I know it seems far fetched, but a pitcher with a bad pitching arm can, and generally will under perform.

You're better than that, LTR. Don't let homerism cloud your mind....something I always thought you was above.

What's asinine was your question in the first place!! Lincecum says his arm never hurts so I was going with it. Calm your shit!

    Re: MLB's Worst, Position-By-Postion

Whether or not Lincecum's arm has ever hurt him to this point is irrelevant.

Lincecum, being a human being, is susceptible to his arm being injured, and if it were to happen and he chose to play through it (and it was reflected on his performance) would you call him inconsistent?

    No you didn't.

You informed me that Lincecum says his arm has never hurt him, which is irrelevant to my point.

    So answer the question.
