How come umpires never get interviewed?

I have seen an unusually high amout of poor calls this season, not to mention far out stike zones. There was an attempted double play at first tonight in the Angels @ Mets game where Chone Figgins was covering first and the ump said he pulled his foot. Maybe he did. The camera was not an an angle to really catch a good shot. It got me to thinking, why don't they interview umps? I mean, why not? They're a part of the game too. From my perspective, I would like to hear what some of the umps have to say not only about the plays they call but about the game in general. idea or what?

That's a good question. I think the reason umpires don't get interviewed after games is because they don't want to start a controversy persay. Would they talk bad about a player or a certain play?
