    Re: Bigger Choke Job?

The Yankees were up 3 games to none and had Mariano pitching in the 9th with the lead.

This was horrible, but I'd still give it to the Yanks.

Why is this even a vote...
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Well, the Indians just choked pretty hard...

If anything rivaled the 04 Yanks it'd be the Indians just now.

That said, the '04 Yanks still own the title.

The 04 Yankees were the biggest choke job in MLB playoff history.

Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying, IMO.

At least the yankees had loads of big game experience, whereas the injuns had little. 04 yankers.

    Re: Bigger Choke Job?

Its not like the Indians are the only team to blow a 3-1 lead, it has happened before, and I bet you some of us are not surprised. But the Yanks are the only team to blow a 3-0 lead. So without question the 04 Yanks.

It's not just that they blew a 3-1 lead it's that they blew it being outscored 30-5.

Well in a way I'm like "woah, only 5 runs? In 3 games?" but then again I'm not surprised because 2 of those games were against Boston top 2 pitchers, who almost always bring there A game when its playoff elimination time, Beckett and Schilling.

    Re: Bigger Choke Job?

Rivera was only a few strikes away, there isn't even a comparison. Yankee's fans aren't getting off that easily. Don't worry, the 04 Yankees will hold the "Biggest chokers ever" title for a long, long time. I don't think you'll see them even get any competition for it in the near future if ever.

If I was pointing the finger at any of the Indians that I feel choked it would have to go to C.C. and Carmona. Particularly C.C., one win from him and they would have won. He and Carmona never had a quality start the entire series.
