Game of the week (5-29, 8:05 PM EST): Yankees vs Red Sox

    vs

I apologize for the weak showing last time around, everyone must of been busy I suppose. This is obviously one of the better matchups in baseball, so I am hoping we will achieve better results this time around. The scheduled starters right now are David Wells for Boston and Mike Mussina for New York. The game's start time is 8:05 PM EST on ESPN (with BBTN preceding it.)

    Let's get the predictions going.

Wells & Mussina, ex teammates in Baltimore. Since it's in Fenway, and Wells does good in the Bronx, Yankees win this one 8-6. Matsui goes yard to ice the game late. A-Rod accidently lengthens his swing at the plate and takes a whack at Variteks head, helmet on of course.

Dang yhova! You really have a longshot prediction there. I am going for the Red Sox on this one. But can David Wells get it together now that he is back from his injury? He will have a true test here against these Yankees. Lets see what we end up looking at come game time.

yhova either has a really radical prediction or he can't count the number of Sox championships. Dunno which.

As for my prediction, it's Wells, so Yankees 8-4

Wells will give up five runs in the first then settle down while the Sox fight back to tie it. Then in the 6th, the Sox bullpen gives it up and the Yanks win 8-5.

Yanks win. Wells just sucks this year except for a few good outings.

What was the game of this week? If it wasn't tonight's matchup of Peavy vs Webb then something is wrong.

I think this game might be on Fox Saturday baseball, too...so you could make another thread. I'll be able to watch that game because it's not on cable.
