USA Today reprted that the Red Sox have truly became America's Team. Their reasoning behind this statement is because the Red Sox have the highest road attendance in baseball. Stating it truly is a Red Sox Nation.



I personally think the Yankees are still rated as number by most American fans. I just found this article to be truly difficult to believe.

true, the red sox are a bigger draw by total number of fans at their road games this year. but its by less than 100,000 people, and the yankees have played 3 less road games. thus, the yankees have a larger percentage of seats filled per road game, 84% to 82%... infact by percentage points, the mets are second, and the red sox are third in that category... thus, the yankees are still a bigger road draw. case dismissed, peace out usa today.

Also, Yankee Stadium holds 56,000, Fenway holds about 35,000. That's 20k more a road game for Boston. That makes up the difference right there. We are still the #1 draw on the road.

They have each played 6 games at each other's Stadiums, the attendance at YS has been about 342,000, the attendance at fenway has been about 216,000. Take out the fenway games from our road average and we are averaging 38,328 on the road. Take out theYS #s from the Sox and they are averaging 36,859 so taking the attendance against neutral teams the Yanks have a higher road attendance.
