    Can anybody hit .400?

Joe Mauer? Miguel Cabrera? Derek Jeter?

I'd put my money on Albert Pujols.

Tony Gwynn could, but they'd strike before he has a chance.

I'd give you a long, detailed answer, but it's simple...

    No.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I think the thread starter is more bitter than I about that year.

I don't think there can be too many fans who aren't bitter about that year...Gwynn would have chased .400, Williams was chasing the HR record, the juggernaut Expos were tearing it up. Even Yankee fans have a right to be somewhat bitter...that could have been Mattingly's year to win it all. We won it the years before and after he came I believe, and in 1994 were leading the AL. But I'm not gonna compare it to the stigma faced by the artists formerly known as the Montreal Expos fans.

Rufio i'll have to agree. Ichiro has a better chance than anyone at getting to .400.

Ichiro is the only one i see that could chase it. Because he gets so many infield singles with his speed that would be outs for most other players.

I don't see anyone hitting .400 anytime soon.

i doubt anyone will in the forseeable future. It'll probably have to be someone who is walked a lot to reduce the chances for outs. I think Pujols could, but it'd still be extremely tough.

A few years ago there was the Todd Helton watch, so that leads me to believe that the only chance of such an event happening again soon is if Ichiro plays for the Rockies and Major League Baseball disallows the use of incubated baseballs.
