I knew I always like Tony Gywnn for a reason, in fact, I will give you 2!!!

1.) He wore #19, just like my man Robin Yount!!! Man, I loved to watch Gywnn hit.

2.) He gave us Tony, Jr.!!! Who just happens to play for none other than my Lovely Brewers!!! I just hope he pans out for us and hit just like his DAD!!!!

Hate to disagree, but Yount was the superstar first!!! Tony has to respect his elders! hahahahaha. But I don't mind that they share the number. Couldn't ask for two finers players to share the same COOL number!!!!

I love how the phrase regarding how they never got a ring was made smaller than the above quote . But in all honesty, he was most certainly one of the best hitters to ever take the field and knew how to strategically put the ball in play where he wanted every time he made contact in order to put his team in position to win any game. As you said before brewersfan, truly a student of the game that will now live in Cooperstown as an immortal baseball and Padre God.
"They asked me if I wanted the ball in Game 6, and I said yes. I'll always say yes. That's what I did with Jack McKeon. I told him, 'Let me see how I feel tomorrow.' I went out, did a long toss, came in and said, 'I'll pitch, I want it, I want to do it.' And it ended up working out." -Josh Beckett

Been nice if you all could have had Mr. 3000 Bernie Mack, that would have helped cope
