Well, the Baseball Prospectus Internet Awards are out, and let's face it, they're more likely correct to stats than the writers

This is as drawn out as the first round of the NBA playoffs.

I think it's because guys like Ryan Howard are on the MLB All-Stars tour in Asia and baseball wants to wait for them to return so that they can hand over the hardware. Can't do that if they're overseas.

I know I hear you, they should have maybe been talking about the winners maybe during the World Serries and then announce the winners, or something like that

I fully disagree with their RoY picks.

    Thanks for the info DK.

What a load of shit. Nov 21? That's 7-1/2 weeks from the end of the season. This is just another thing I hate about MLB.

Pretty pathetic that you give out the regular season awards after 7+ weeks.

Just give it out durring the 1st round for crying out loud.

Ryan Howard was named Outstanding Player and NL Player of the Year in Players Choice balloting announced Wednesday.
Jermaine Dye was the AL Player of the Year. Taking Outstanding Pitcher honors were Johan Santana in the AL and Chris Carpenter in the NL. The Outstanding Rookies were Justin Verlander in the AL and Dan Uggla in the NL. The AL Comeback Player was Frank Thomas, with Nomar Garciaparra winning the NL award. Albert Pujols was named the Marvin Miller Man of the Year.
These aren't the real ones but here are some awards.

It is a bit puzzling why these awards are not given out earlier. The voting takes place just after the season ends. They should be known before the WS is over.
