Tigers rotation for the World Series?

Pretty sure that no one cares, but I'm going to put it out there regardless. The Tigers have a ridiculous 7 days off before the start of the World Series next Saturday, so they can pretty much set their pitching rotation any way they want. I think it's virtually guaranteed that you have Kenny Rogers going in game 1, as he has been untouchable. My guess:

    1- Rogers
    2- Verlander
    3- Bonderman
    4- Robertson
    5- Rogers
    6- Verlander
    7- Bonderman

Then again, if they play the Mets, Robertson could probably go before Bonderman since the Mets are worse against left-handed pitchers. And Jim Leyland has a mancrush on Robertson anyways.

Rogers? That wouldn't be smart. I think it'll be:

    1:Verlander
    2:Bonderman
    3:Rogers
    4:Robertson
    5:Verlander
    6:Bonderman/Rogers
    7:Rogers/Bonderman

But it will change if they fall behind, because I don't think they'll go with Bonderman if they're down 3-2 in Game 6.

I did this strictly because I think they'll want Kenny in their first chance at eliminating or being eliminated

Rogers has been too good to not give him a chance to start three games for them, if they need it.

I think Rogers definitely starts game 1, with Verlander following, and then probably Robertson coming up next just because Leyland does seem to favor him a bit over Bonderman, then Bonderman rounds off the 4, and the last 3 are determined by how the games actually end up.

Definately agree with Rogers being the game 1 starter. He has been almost untouchable this post-season. He has to start at least 2 games in the series. If he does the Tigers have a good chance to win it. Of course the Cardinals and Mets aren't very strong teams to begin with compared to the Tigers.

The way the Tigers are playing, I could start a game and have a decent chance of picking up a win, and I'm 52 (that would make me the oldest pitcher to ever appear in a game, right?).
Seriously, I'd lead off with Rogers, then go with Bonderman, Verlander and Robertson.

Satchel Paige pitched once at 58. 3 innings of one-hit ball.

Something tells me he'll hold off on Kenny and throw him in 6 or 7.

That is, if this Series goes that far...

Looks like we might see Rogers in Game 1, Bonderman in 2, Robertson in 3, Verlander in 4, Rogers again in 5, Bonderman 6, Robertson 7.
Tigers manager Jim Leyland would like to maintain the lefty-rghty-lefty-righty format he's gone with throughout the playoffs, which means that Kenny Rogers will likely be the Game 1 starter in the World Series, according to the Detroit News. The Tigers are 4-0 this postseason in games started by Rogers or probable Game 2 starter, Jeremy Bonderman.

For the Cards, I guess it would go:

    1 - A. Reyes
    2 - J. Weaver
    3 - C. Carpenter
    4 - J. Suppan
    5 - A. Reyes
    6 - J. Weaver
    7 - C. Carpenter

As good as Rogers has pitched so far, I think the Cardinals can get to him.

wonder who DH's for the Cardinals. Since it's probably going to be Rogers in game 1, we'll probably see Taguchi? Or Spiezio.

    Brewers

Miles might DH in Game 1, gives the Cards a little bit more speed at the bottom of their lineup to help with getting runners on and maybe in scoring position for the top of the order.

unlikely that TLR will have a lefty bat against a lefty pitcher.
