Talk about irony. She's just banged up, she'll be fine, so we can laugh about it.

This is a problem with all ballparks. If you put screening up to protect the fans, it keeps the fans from enjoying the atmosphere as much. I, myself, have been hit by a foul ball and while it stung a bit, I was not injured. The guy that hit it was Justin Morneau, while he was playing in the Midwest League. He asked me if I was OK after the game and signed the ball for me.
I hope Mrs Gibbons is OK.

Read the article......he has a good idea for how to fix the problem. Maybe now, that his wife was hit, and being the Orioles player representative to the MLBPA, something will be done to make the parks safer. Some of those balls could injure people, especially kids.

    Thankfully it wasn't Benson's wife.

The surprising thing is......I think your the first person to even bring his wife to my attention this season. She's kept well out of the spotlight, which is quite a surprise. And, if I must say, a welcome surprise, because the Mets had problems with the waves she caused.

Brett Myers wishes he had hit his wife with a foul ball instead of his fist.
