Yeah, you do make a good point there about him having a lot of Red Sox nation still behind him. I didn't even think about that one.

Here is something wierd though. Apparently Ivan Rodriguez is only 23 years old and is making his first all-star appearance.

We got a lot of first timers this year too.
nice to see sarge junior getting some love.

It doesn't make it funny...it just shows you how Homeriffic the average Red Sox fan is (not Fisher)...they don't care...they just assume that because player X is on the Red Sox that he is the greatest player EVARSSSS!@!!!!
In fairness though, when you look at the voting, that's the same way with Yankee fans, and arguably ets fans too (yes they're having a great season but 4 starters???)

Whilst my vote would be going to Liriano, I think Hafner or Pierzynski will win the final man ballot, and hopefully Capuano on the other side, but probably Nomar (actually make that Abreu- they listed him as a pitcher though).

Little peeved about Redman making it to the show (I'm actually a Sawx fan- the Kansas logo's for one of the fantasy leagues) and Cano too, I wouldve liked to see them pick DeJesus if thwey had to pick a Royal, and Verlander for Redman. As you say though Buerhle doesnt deserve being picked either (though Contreras does).

Freddy Sanchez from the pirates? What about Jose Castillo???

Yes, Yankees fans, too because it's like that every year. The Mets don't usually get this many...I chalk it up to them having a great season not to homerism.

the great season is all they need, though...

there's no way LoDuca should be voted in over McCann, Estrada, or Piazza even.

my point is that this is a pattern of behavior among Yankees and Red Sox fans.

I love having the manager of the all star team. It's nice not having 3 snubs for once.

I'm not that bad... The guys that I remember voting for are David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, Jason Varitek, A-Rod, and J-howeveryouspellhisname Cantu. I didn't vote for Ortiz and Ramirez just because they're Red Sox Players, if they were with any other team I still would have voted for them. Same thing with A-Rod being with the Yankees. Then I voted for Cantu from the D-Rays over Mark Loretta. I can't remember who else I voted for. I think I may have voted for Johnny Demon, Ichiro, or Vladimir G-howeveryouspellhisname.

I can't help it if big teams have big players.

Oh by the way dumb questions... When in the all-star game going to happen? And what about the home run derby too? I'm leaving for camp this saturday, and I think they are going to happen while I'm at camp for 2 weeks

Why Dunn or Griffey isn't in the ASG is shocking enough

Beltran, Soriano, Ryan Howard, Carlos Lee, and even Adam Dunn deserve an ASG nod before Griffey....not that Griffey isn't having an All Star calliber year, but they're doing better than he is.
