I wouldn't be suprised to learn that players back in the day took roids as well... and my suspicioun grew a bit bigger when some guy (I forget who) was quick to defend Bonds when asked about his record chase and what he thinks about it if Bonds were indeed on steroids.

The only "proof" I (and anyone else) have of Bonds being on roids is the drastic increace in numbers from 1999 on, which coincided with the point of his career at which most everyone else starts declining.

I admit it's all speculative, though. Some people aren't even willing to admit there's a possibility, however, which is pretty closed minded and (in the majority of these cases) homerific.

i worked out for 20 days in month and gained 6 lbs, plus i was working 40+ hrs a week and going to school unlike bonds, does that mean i was on roids also?
    That's pretty impressive.

I can't state this for a fact, as I don't know, but I've been told (at least it was implied, anyways) that a guy on roids can work out for 30 days in a month...31 in some months. Only 28 in Feburary, though. (29 every 4th year)

*YAWN* another flaming Bonds thread.....this is getting sickening. Once again, to the HR to steroids idal. Alex Sanchez took steroids. Ryan Franklin took Steroids. Im pretty sure these 2 will go off for 40 HRs soon.

They make your conditioning 1000x better and allow you to hit the gym on a daily basis.

If you take steroids but only work out your legs you're not going to hit any extra home runs.

Bonds has been under scrutiny the last 15 years, if it's so easy why haven't many players taken shots at him? It is alot easier to side w/ a fellow player then to come out and bash him. What is so hard about this to understand? You really think it's hard to side w/ a player? Players stick together.

can you prove it that steriods help you hit HRs?
Yes, look at Bonds' HR rate pre-steroids(around '98 or '99 and earlier) and post steroids around '99-'00. There you will find your answer.

That's not necessarily all muscle, it's easy to work out hard and gain weight but some of that may be water weight as w/ increased training your wtare intake increases. Were you able to keep that weight on? I work out regularly and when I was a little smaller I used to gain very quickly but also lose fairly quickly, in the end I kept gaining but it took a while- 2 steps forward, 1 step back,...

What do they have to do w/ it? Barry was a HOFer BEFORE steroids but then became an immoratl, those other players were crap before and after. Steroids won't make you a great player but it can make a good player great(like a giambi) or a great player an immortal(Bonds).

To add to my post and bounce off of what nyjunc stated, roids only help make you stronger.

You still have to know how to hit a small white ball coming at you at 80-96 mph, going in crazy motions sometimes.

To ask that question you must first be under the assumption that the person in question has already taken the drug, but it did not help. Well gues what, its still illegal!

Try getting pulled over after a night a drinking and telling the cop that he can't prove that the booze you consumed actually impared your driving.

Point is: Regardless of what effect the drug had on the user, in both cases using the drug at all is illegal. So your premise is flawed.

yes ofcourse its not all mucle, butyour saying bonds gained 30 lbs of mucles, now how the hell would you know if its ALL muscle, it could be natural body fat also

hmark, i think we all know the law, all of you guys are anti-bonds and all of you cant prove shit against him

so plunking someone intentionally in the head with a 90+ mph fast ball is not a crime? because i see that all the time, based on your logic, every pitcher who hits a batter should get arrested for assult and battary then.

I love how you dodged my question!!! And where the **** did you get 15 years from? Its easey for a teammate to support them because they have to see these people day in and day out. Takes nopthing to bash a guy on the other team!

Someone needs to close this thread because its the same shit and this loser thinks bashing Bonds now is heroic rather than even three years ago

Where did you get that out of my post? Seemingly overnight Bond's HR frequency increased dramtaically and you usually tend to see numbers decline as players approach 40 and you don't see guys go from pretzel stick thin to hulk huge in a year or 2 no matter how hard they work out.
