Even with Selig being the dumbass that he is, I can atleast agree with what he is saying about not celebrating a record that as of now is 2nd.
"They asked me if I wanted the ball in Game 6, and I said yes. I'll always say yes. That's what I did with Jack McKeon. I told him, 'Let me see how I feel tomorrow.' I went out, did a long toss, came in and said, 'I'll pitch, I want it, I want to do it.' And it ended up working out." -Josh Beckett

If that "dumbass" Selig wasn't around to create the wildcard, your dumbass Red Sox wouldn't have even made the playoffs in 2004.

I think Selig takes a lot of crap he doesn't deserve. And he's going to take a lot of crap for this story on the left coast.

Selig has done a fair amount of good things for baseball.

At the same time, he has done a fair amount of bad things for baseball.

Dude's basically nullified all the good with the bad in his career, but hey, he moved the league forward.

You can almost count on having a celebration for Bonds ONLY IN SAN FRANCISCO.

GREAT move! I applaud Bud for this one. Brilliant.

    The right move for sure.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.

they didn't even have to announce this

do they celebrate everytime griffey passes a member on the HR list?

no, they just say "with that hr, he passes so-and-so on the all time hr list"

why should it be any different from bonds, all he's doing is passing another member to move up.

Yeah, I saw that stupid freaking article. Its just Bud putting the advance spin on an otherwise momentous occasion. Lip service, covering his ass, etc etc. What was that pomp and circumstance for Clemens at the All-Star game a few years back then Buddy Boy? Is it 2009 yet?

I can agree and then disagree. This isn't just another player, its Babe ****ign Ruth. Babe is the best player ever. 714 is still an important number and only one person has more. Its somewhat a slap in the face to the Babe. Then again, I don't care and I don't think Bonds really gives two shits. I'm glad he gave that reason and not because of the investigation in which Selig fell asleep all during the 90's and let steroid use grow.
