I figure there's enough people here who'll be watching the game to make a game thread for it on the general MLB board.

No fancy write-up, because hey, I'm not Waruv and this game isn't as special as the White Sox and Indians.

I'm seeing a 6-4 victory in the future for the Cubs here, maybe more depending on how many cans of beer Sidney Ponson downs before the first pitch. Sean Marshall gets his first career start for the Cubs.

He is not one of their beloved ones, nor is he really one of their best ones (or rather, he is not one of their bestest... he's one of their better prospects but not like Felix Pie or anything). Honestly, Marshall is only up because of a weak AAA and the injuries - he's coming straight from AA.

David Eckstein grounds out to third, Juan Encarnacion grounds out to second.

Marshall against Pujols, Marshall throws a bit tentatively, giving nothing for Pujols to hit, but walks him.

Can't wait to see how Ponscum does as a cardinal.

Sean Marshall in his first full count as a major leaguer gives up a big homerun to Scott Rolen, two run shot right down the left field line.

Jim Edmonds swings at a bad pitch, pops up to Aramis Ramirez in foul territory. Going to the bottom of the first now.

Ponson is looking LARGE, fatty fat fat fat faaaaat.

Juan Pierre grounds out to second base.

Todd Walker nearly pops out to the left field foul territory but three people running at one ball = no one catches it, then he hits a single to centerfield.

Derrek Lee grounds into a broken bat double play to end the inning.

Fat man gets two of the three hot Cubs hitters at the top of the lineup and defense gets him the other one.

Just hope for 1 or less HR for Lee and Aramis combined.
