MLB.com: Jim Tracy's father not doing so well

SAN FRANCISCO -- Jim Edwin Tracy's father will not be in attendance on Opening Day against the Giants at Dodger Stadium next Tuesday.

Jim Leo Tracy has reached the stage in his battle with prostrate cancer that long trips from his home in Hamilton, Ohio, have become impractical.

"He's a little thinner than he was last year," the Dodgers manager said about his 78-year-old father several hours before Thursday night's 6-0 victory over the Giants at SBC Park. "He still moves about, but I don't know how enthused he is about traveling long distances anymore."
