MLB.com: Dodgers have an inexperienced bullpen

SAN FRANCISCO -- The six relievers available to Dodgers manager Jim Tracy on Thursday night have a career total of one Major League save, converted by Kelly Wunsch in 2000.

If the Dodgers are able to stay afloat while waiting for Eric Gagne's elbow to heal, they'll have to do it with a bullpen that has almost no track record for closing the deal. The hamstring injury to Giovanni Carrara further erodes the experience and puts added pressure on pitchers unproven in current roles at this level.

At this time last year, fill-in closer Yhency Brazoban, Rule 5 draftee D.J. Houlton and Buddy Carlyle were pitching in Double-A, while Steve Schmoll was in Class A. Wunsch was on the disabled list, and when his season began, it was at Triple-A.
