    Dodgers Potential Heroes

Orel Hershiser joining Steve Garvey-led team exploring possibility of purchasing Dodgers should franchise go up for sale - LA Daily News

I have never been a big Garvey fan but anything has to be better than Frank McCourt. I do like the idea of Orel having a piece of the Dodgers.

If Garvey is a "good businessman", then McCourt is a real-estate tycoon.

Asked Orel if he was looking to buy part of the Dodgers, and he said,"They're not for sale... I wish the Dodgers well."

No shit, of course Orel is going to say the team is not for sale, to say otherwise would be tampering.

    Re: Potential Heroes

LOS ANGELES – Steve Garvey, the former iconic first baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers, on Friday was fired by the team for his aggressive and public attempts to buy out embattled owner Frank McCourt.

Though he drew a regular paycheck from McCourt and had been asked by the club to cease efforts that would undermine McCourt’s ownership, Garvey continued to seek community and financial support.
Stupid move, Garv. If he really wanted to stand up to McCourt, he could have walked away from his paycheck.
