The Dodgers are going bankrupt and can't even make player payroll. How exactly do they have the resources?

Comparing muggings in NYC and beating at a ballgame is just irresponsible. I know the point you are trying to make but its not the same thing or even close.

It's not quite the same thing but it's comparable enough that the concept fits.

A crime took place that was perpetrated by people in no way related to an organization but that organization is being blamed because it took place on their property.

The only real difference is a city is a larger scale.

And the organization is always the one to pay because you can't collect millions from the actual criminals when they don't have two nickels to rub together.

And a completely different scenario thats not as black and white as you are making it. We all get what the Stow's are trying to do, that's no secret as it has been said plenty in this thread already.

This one reason businesses have insurance. It is a sue happy world we live in and unfortunately anything that happens on your property especially a business you are somewhat liable. Many of these are settled before any litigation takes place. If it were to go to trial it could take years even several to a decade for any verdict. I have seen some pretty crazy judgments though even when it was clearly proved and even admitted by the plantiff they them themselves were at fault for the incident.

Because after the incident they hired like 2x the security to be at games...

Yes, but any organization would double the security after an incident like that, regardless of whether the original security was at full capacity or not. It's like airport security before and after 9/11: even if we go even more broke, we have no choice because you know what happened.

Of course they did that. If they didn't then their defense for lawsuits of this nature would be much weaker.

They did it cause of public outrage, not because it helped them legally... they woulda been better off not doing anything legally but once they hired the security they proved they could

And this is probably why the Stow's are suing because this is definitely not the first incident at LA or between Giant and Dodger fans. The security should have already been there.

There wasn't much public outrage over the Giant fan who got shot to death because he was brown.

I agree its a double standard and in no way am I saying the Giants haven't had their issues with violence.

That murder happened in LA to Giant fan by a Dodger fan, yet nobody remembered it until Whitey almost got beaten to death.

I heard there's a legal clause in which the Dodgers can argue that the fact they upgraded security afterwards cannot be held against them as an admission of guilt.
