MLB reserve fund to the rescue.

Either that, or do nothing while Frank splits billions in the Dodgers' revenue stream between himself and Jamie and in the process devalue the franchise and in turn, affect the worth of the teams below the Dodgers in the pecking order.

    L.A. Times:
If McCourt were to fail to meet payroll, the league would cover the expenses and would have the option to seize the Dodgers from him, according to one of the people familiar with the situation.

A lot of good that does to warn the people of Los Angeles about McCourt. What about warning Major League Baseball?

Dodgers Frank McCourt to fans: "Give me a chance"

Gotta love the hypocrisy. He wants Dodger fans like me to give him a chance, yet when CC Sabathia, Cliff Lee, Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt, Jayson Werth, Carl Crawford, and so on were available, he gave us ZERO chance of hope at landing any such player. He talks about being committed to the team, yet he was willing to leverage the franchise to the hilt just to settle his personal mess.

Oh, but good for Frank that he says he cares. Congrats, you're a more gracious team owner than Donald Sterling, Al Davis, and Dean Spanos.

Al Davis maybe old, senile, and crazy but I as a Raider fan take great um-bridge with the belief that Al Davis doesn't want to win.... The Problem isn't he doesn't want to win, the problem arises that he wants to do it his way that hasn't worked since Art Shell Pt 1.

Well, if you put it that way, which owner in any professional sport doesn't want to win? The difference between a good owner and a bad one is whether he is willing to commit a full effort in order to achieve that or if he chooses to cut corners in scouting, coaching, the draft, et al.

KTLA: Frank McCourt Discusses Reports The Dodgers Won't Meet Payroll -- ktla.com

He won't be able to meet payroll without taking a bailout deal from Fox. Duh, maybe that's why you shouldn't be allowed to keep the team?

re: MLB taking over Dodgers' day-to-day operations

Surprise, surprise, McCourt and his sock puppet Steve Soboroff are already getting off on the wrong foot with MLB-appointed trustee Tom Schieffer. Soboroff went so far as to accuse Schieffer of being inaccessible when Soboroff requested approval to fund additional stadium security in wake of Osama bin Laden's assassination, only for Schieffer to show proof of an email that he did approve the request within two minutes after Dodgers' general counsel Sam Fernandez emailed him with the request. McCourt had to then apologize to MLB for Soboroff's lies.

Thankfully, there's somebody who can make sense of it all:

Frank McCourt will seek other owners' support, but shouldn't expect it - latimes.com

Frank needs votes from 7 fellow owners in order to prevent Bud from stripping him of the Dodgers. A better question is will Frank receive even one vote besides from himself?

Re: MLB taking over Dodgers' day-to-day operations

The voting likely won't be held until McCourt is unable to meet payroll, but he was there to plead his case before his fellow owners. No doubt he tried to sell them on the same bullshit that he's been trying to sell to the public.
