Most clubs wouldn't have a problem meeting that deferred sum, but the Dodgers have been taking out advances to make payroll while the McCourts continue to sort out their divorce agreement. It's possible that the club struggle to pay Ramirez, who retired from baseball in April after failing a drug test during spring training.

Pretty sad when I would rather have James Loney playing first than what the Giants keep throwing out there. Loney seems to be heading in the right direction after a terrible April.
