Dodgers Selig grows a pair of balls, cockblocks Fox's bailout for McCourt

Dodgers: Bud Selig rejected proposal for Fox to loan $200 million to Dodgers' owner - latimes.com

McCourt would have used the Dodgers' cable television rights as collateral, extending the team's current contract with Fox by as many as four years if he did not repay the loan
should be interesting to find out if indeed Selig rejected the proposed loan because it was for Frank's personal expenses, namely legal expenses.

    Mike Scioscia's tragic illness

This is mostly a win for Dodger fans, because besides for the obvious great news that McCourt looks to be in even further trouble, not accepting the loan both avoids further indebting the team to FOX and keeps open the possibility of larger TV payments down the road. (Had McCourt defaulted on the loan, FOX could have extended the broadcast contract for years at far below market rates.)

Jamie McCourt demands Dodgers' financial data, blasts Frank's 'secret deal' with Fox | Dodgers Blog | Los Angeles Times
Jamie and her advisors were "shocked" to read that report, according to the filing. Her lawyers called it "outrageous" that Frank had not disclosed the Fox discussions to Jamie and "equally outrageous" that she needed Selig to "protect the franchise's best interests given that California law imposes that very duty and obligation upon Frank, since he runs the Dodgers."
This is fake rage at its finest. If either spouse truly cared about the franchise's best interests and not just their own interests, they would have long ago sold the team and then taken a hike.
