    And rightfully so. The Dodgers went out and actually addressed their needs like the bullpen and rotation. While Uribe got too many years on his contract, he will at least be good in year one and is a huge upgrade over last year's second basemen. The rotation this year would have lead the league last year in ERA. I agree with all of Stark's grades.

    Just for comparison sake, I took a look back in SI's 1998 MLB preview issue and saw that our lone addition that offseason was Jose Vizcaino. I almost forgot how much of a cheap-ass O'Malley was, too.

    So pick ups over the years like Garret Anderson are a subtle nod to those days.
