Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle heard from scouts Thursday that Eric Chavez swung the bat well in his private workout with the Dodgers.
Slusser says that the Dodgers were "raving" about how Chavez looked when "put through the paces." If they want him, they can probably have him. He's done some workouts with other teams around the league, but a quick offer should be met with a quick signature. With his recent injury history, he's probably going to have to settle for a minor league contract and spring invite.

Chavez if limited to 19 games should do just fine.
