Draft Preview: LA historically likes HS arms | dodgers.com: News
Oh, Loney over Cain begs to differ.Draft Preview: LA historically likes HS arms
Dodgers assistant GM White tends to target young pitching
The Dodgers don't draft until 28th in Monday's first round of the First-Year Player Draft and that's fine with them, considering their eye on finances and the shortage of impact players in this year's class.
They are expected to focus on a signable high school pitcher early and take some shots on high-ceiling/high-risk position players later on. It's a formula that has worked for the Dodgers' assistant GM Logan White in the past.
Austin Wilson, Zack Cox, Stetson Allie would all make me satisfaction.
shit, Cards took Cox. Oh well, screw his low upside.
We're on the clock. Final wishlist: Wilson, Cole, Allie, O'Conner
but I say Cole over Allie
ffffuuuucccckkkk
Mofo apparently not big on the Lee wagon.
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!
The 2074 MSL NL Gold Glove Recipient at Third Base.
Zach Lee, rhp: His commitment to play quarterback at LSU may render him unsignable.
MoMo430:
**** you McCourts.I would put money they pick someone with "extreme" signability problems so that they dont even have to pay for someone this year! (hope not but McCourt doesn't want to win)

Oh, God. What's next? Draft John Wall with our second round pick?
Jim Callis: WOW. LAD was about the last team I would have expected to take Zack Lee. Can they really sign him? Do like him a lot as P. #mlbdraft
Joe Sheehan: That's pretty blatantly pushing your pick into 2011, no? #dodger
Baseball America | Blog | Baseball America Draft Blog | Dodgers Go BoldThis is the most telling sign that the McCourts have no business owning a baseball team. With Stetson Allie, Justin O'Conner and Nick Castellanos on the board, they must have forced Logan White to draft a kid who they will never sign. This is beyond pathetic. Add that to the refusal to offer Randy Wolf arbitration and every Dodger fan has to thank Bud Selig for sticking us with the McCourts. Posted by Chris Torgrimsson
f-uck the McCourts. This is a god damn criminal conspiracy.

At least Dodgers' gamble on first-round pick Zach Lee will leave 'em talking | Dodgers Blog | Los Angeles Times
Dodgers take high school righty at No. 28 | dodgers.com: News
How much did Frank paid Logan to take a dive for him with that?"People can think what they want, he was the best talent available and I want to sign him, absolutely," said Logan White, assistant general manager of scouting. "I didn't take Zach to not sign him. You'll see as the summer goes along we'll make every effort to sign him, and I want to sign him. I know it won't be easy, but hopefully we'll get it done."
Final thoughts:
The irony is that typically I'd be disappointed if they passed on a guy because they were scared off by his demands (see: Porcello, Rick), but I never thought they would take someone because they know they have no hope of signing him and use that as an excuse to not dish out first round bonus money. However, even if this ends up like the Luke Hochevar fiasco, the good news is they will get a compensatory pick in next year's supposedly loaded draft, so the McCourts can keep postponing the first round picks but they're going to accumulate so they've got to pay the piper sooner or later.
Dodgers no closer to signing top pick | dodgers.com: News
^^Nevermind. F*** me.
Prediction: Frank punts the compensated pick, we have nothing to show for our 2010 first round selection. **** our lives.Teams can also earn compensation for unsigned picks from the previous year's draft. If a team fails to sign a player with one of these compensated picks, there is no compensation the following year.
