Dodgers Acquire Sherrill

Ed Price of Fanhouse is reporting that the Dodgers have acquired George Sherrill from the Orioles.
If true, Sherrill would work as a setup man in front of closer Jonathan Broxton. Sherrill has a 2.40 ERA, 20 saves and a 39/13 K/BB ratio in 41 1/3 innings this season.

Not a bad pickup for the Dodgers. Pretty good bullpen arm can always help. I'd like to know what they gave up for him though...

The Orioles traded LHP George Sherrill to the Dodgers for prospects 3B Josh Bell and RHP Steve Johnson, according to MLB.com.

Mofo, what's the word on these two prospects?

Bell is a steep price for a lefty reliever, even if he's unlikely to stay at 3B. Heard for a few minutes that it was Bell and Elbert, which would have been entirely too much.

Not a great deal for LA, not an awful one either.

It's doubtful another team will claim the piece of trash, but it's much better that he'll be stinking it up for Albuquerque than continuing to do so here.

Dylan Hernandez: Yes. That doesn't mean he's off the team. Just that other teams have a chance to claim him. RT @jimdcuban wasn't Sherrill on waivers?!

I think every Dodger fan had the same reaction as jimdcuban when we saw Sherrill warming up in the pen.
