Jul 18 RHP Jason Schmidt, who has not pitched in the majors since July 16, 2007, will be activated from the 60-day DL July 20 to start against Cincinnati.

I wonder, since they have both been out in the West Coast for awhile, if Barry Zito and Jason Schmidt ever have money fights (maybe that's how Schmidt hurt his shoulder.) Of course Zito, grossly overpaid as he is in SF, does work for a living.

Those six starts for Dodgers fans must have been magical. (On a more serious note, how was he looking in rehab? Any hope of salvaging the deal with a good year and a half of pitching?)

5 innings, 3 earned runs. Not bad. Good enough for the win and for any trolls to shut up.

That was the Reds fear inducing lineup though. It wasn't a bad start, considering the circumstances of his return, but I don't know if it paints a true picture or not given what he faced.
