The Los Angeles Dodgers are jumping into the Roy Halladay sweepstakes, and they might just have enough talent to spare to land the Toronto Blue Jays ace.
They'd likely have to start with either southpaw Clayton Kershaw or right-hander Chad Billingsley, but perhaps prospects Andrew Lambo, Chris Withrow or 2008 draftee Ethan Martin could be part of the package as well.
But if Toronto is giving teams a chance to get a contract extension in place for Halladay, the price is going to be quite steep, which may mean any club will have to give up more than one valuable major league player. Perhaps Matt Kemp or Andre Ethier would have to be part of a deal for the Dodgers to get into the conversation, but it's unknown at this point what other clubs may be willing to offer, so the market has yet to be set.
