Apparently, Ausmus in the lineup is the lesser of two evils, with the other being Martin as an automatic out between Loney and Kemp in the lineup. Sending the soft tossing Stults to the mound in Coors Field is just asking for a nightmare.

A no vote of confidence in the bullpen means sacrificing a scoring opportunity with the pitcher's spot. I guess it's an easier decision to let Troncoso bat when the probability of scoring with two outs is low.
