Mota's Back!!

The Los Angeles Times reports that the Dodgers and Guillermo Mota have agreed to terms on a one-year contract.
The deal is expected to be completed pending a physical exam. Mota hasn't been a dominant late-inning option since the Dodgers traded him in mid-2004 and a return to Los Angeles is unlikely to change that, but he's still a capable middle reliever and the price figures to be right.

I expect a Gagne signing any day now. Get the ole tandem back together again.

I was disappointed that DePodesta traded him during the 2004 season. I mean, how the **** do you trade your setup man with a 2.14 ERA while the team is leading the division? Alas, Mota is not the same pitcher as before, but at least Ned has not yet given up our 17th overall pick for Juan Cruz.
