    Check this out

Looks like he lost alot of weight

    Martin
    Loney
    Ty Wigginton
    Dewitt
    Blake
    Dunn/Abreu/Burrell/maybe Jones
    Kemp
    Either

    Bills
    Kuroda
    Perez
    Sheets
    Kershaw

    3 yr 33 mil Ty
1 yr 12 mil for OF
    4 yr 40 mil Perez
    2 yr 14 mil Sheets

If we use a healthy Jones, use the 12 mil for bullpen

    Here is the actual lineup

    Kemp
    Either
    OF
    Blake
    Ty
    Loney
    Martin
    Dewitt

Pretty good if the young develops

OF, Blake, Ty will give leadership

IMO it is like 150-160 HR

They're not moving Blake Dewitt to shortstop.

My prediction is after a half-assed effort to obtain a shortstop, they will head to spring training with Chin Lung Hu as the starter.

Because he hasn't played shortstop since high school? Because there has never been a second baseman or third baseman in the major leagues who made the move to shortstop successfully?

You don't think asking someone to play a position they haven't played since high school matters?

No there isn't much of a difference between 2nd/3rd and SS.

He has the fielding, athleticism, and the arm; what else does he need.

    Re: Predicting the '09 Roster

If there wasn't much of a difference infielders would make the switch a lot more often than they do.

Shortstops see a lot more ground balls than a 3rd baseman does, and they have to watch out for them in either direction. (As opposed to the 3rd baseman who really only has to worry about ground balls to his left.)

SS is regarded as the hardest position to play in baseball, short of maybe catcher.

    Re: Predicting the '09 Roster

You can argue a guy moving from SS to 3B, or SS to 2B, because there is less range required, and arguably less athleticism, but to move to SS is a very difficult thing....there are pretty much no examples of that....

I think that we can teach him SS young. We will also platoon him with Loretta

I bet you $50 that Blake Dewitt doesn't play a single game for all 9 innings at shortstop next season.

    Re: Predicting the '09 Roster

The lineup is looking more and more powerful after free agent losses.

    LF Pierre
    C Martin
    CF Jones
    1b Loney
    RF Ethier/Kemp
    3b Blake
    2b Dewitt
    SS Vizquel
    P Pettitte
