    Re: Predicting the '09 Roster

I just read where the Pirates wanted Hu, Young and another player for Jack Wilson and his $7.5 million. No way in hell that will happen.

If I had to choose one of your teams heyyah, I would go with the team with Dye. Dye comes cheaper and for less years than Manny.

    Halladay is not leaving T.O.
Even if he is traded, your idea that the Jays are in need of bullpen help is kinda ridiculous IMO.
I believe we had one of the best pens in the AL.

Ok so who is a SS option

Also do you know how Schmidt and Jones are doing.
Will they be back to (the good) normal; that would fill some of our holes.

Also who could be a #4/5 pitcher FA that is a good fit, younger than Pettite and Johnson

    Re: Predicting the '09 Roster

Our projected opening day batting lineup looks more powerful every day.

    LF Pierre
    SS Jack Wilson
    C Martin
    CF Jones
    1b Loney
    RF Ethier/Kemp
    3b Rich Aurilia
    2b Dewitt
    P Pettitte

Why do you still have Andruw in your lineup? Torre already learned his lesson.

Are you kidding me, that is horrible.

We are going to use Either and Kemp at the same time. (RF CF)

We wont sign Aurillia to start.

Why would Jones be batting 4, he should be 8.

And your also saying that we arent signing CC or Manny.

    1) Yes, it is horrible. But no, I am not kidding you. Remember when Luis Gonzalez was our blockbuster signing?

    2) Yes, we will, as soon as the trainer determines that obesity is a legitimate reason for putting Jones on the DL.

    3) Well, too bad. I just wrote Ned's speech at the press conference of the Aurilia signing:

"I think we improved ourselves. I think Rich Aurilia is a solid player. He gives us a little more offense. He doesn't take a game off. He doesn't take an at-bat off. He's a guy who's won. He's a great character guy. He's a veteran. But most important of all, he is a GAMER."

    4) Jones should be 8, but Torre has never batted him 8.

    5) Yes, I am saying that we arent signing CC or Manny.

I would rather have a team with our prospects filling the holes.

    Martin
    Loney
    Hu
    DeJesus
    Dewitt
    D Young
    Kemp
    Either

    Bills
    Kuroda
    Kershaw
    McDonald
    Schmidt

I think that we would be ok offensively with this team

    Martin
    Loney
    Uggla

    Blake
    Dye
    Kemp
    Either

Do you think that we could get Uggla and Dye

Who is a SS, perferably fast, leadoff, affordably (I'm saying we sign CC)

Cabrera is no leadoff man anymore. Uggla isn;t likely to be moved with the Marlins moving all of their other arbitration eligible players. Dye can still be had but only for a year.

Ludwick could be had for the right price but don't see the Dodgers having it. Cards need middle infield help and pitching.

    Re: Predicting the '09 Roster

Dude we have so much infield

    Abreu, DeJesus, Hu, Elbert

We could also fill out the infield and rotation.

    Martin
    Loney
    O Hud
    Cabera
    Blake
    Ludwick
    Kemp
    Either

    Bills
    Perez
    Kuroda
    Kershaw
    McDonald

Oh sorry I know that Elbert is a pitcher. He is also part of a package.
