Dodgers get shorter

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The Dodgers declined Wednesday to offer pitcher Mark Hendrickson a contract for next season.

The decision was announced hours before Wednesday's midnight deadline for unsigned players on the 40-man roster.

The Lakers ought to give Mark a call. He can be a starter at least once every fifth day. That's more than you can say about Kwame Brown! And Mark certainly has bigger hands.

If you wanted to get shorter, you shoulda signed Dave Eckstein. Not get rid of Hendrickson!

Well, Mark "Too Tall" Hendrickson signed with Marlins instead of the Lakers. Hope he enjoys the psychiatrists down in South Florida.

He'd have been more useful to the Lakers than Kwame Brown or Christine Mihm.

I believe that's why I mentioned that Hendrickson must have bigger hands than Kwame does. And he's durable, unlike Christine Mihm.
