    Dodgers Make Offer To Andruw

A source told ESPN's Jerry Crasnick that the Dodgers have a two-year, $32 million offer to Andruw Jones on the table.
That's not the kind of offer that figures to make Jones sign on the dotted line anytime soon. No one has stepped up with the kind of five- or six-year deal agent Scott Boras wants, but it'd be a surprise if some team wasn't willing to go to at least $50 million for three years.
This was the offer I was wanting the Giants to make if they were to make one. Jones should take this deal and get two paychecks instead of one if he were to get his six year deal.

I guess I can forget any slim chance the Padres have at signing him.

Wait a minute, I thought Ned Colletti was done with Scott Boras, especially after they had the following heated conversation:

Ned Colletti: Why don't you go back to your little Puerto Rican girlfriend?
Scott Boras: I will go back to my ****ing Puerto Rican girlfriend!
    Colletti: Yeah?
Boras: Yeah, you keep thinking about my girlfriend while you're ****ing your fat ****ing wife!
    Colletti: You mother****er!
    [darts for Boras]
Boras: Get the **** off of me! You mother****er!
Colletti: Get off of me! You mother****er.
    [is taken off of Boras]
    Colletti: I'm done with you!
    Boras: **** you!

Tony Jackson of the Los Angeles Daily News said there's no truth to ESPN's rumor that the Dodgers have offered Andruw Jones a two-year, $32 million contract.
The Dodgers are interested and it's possible they've discussed the framework of such an offer, but the proposal hasn't been made, apparently. Jackson also says there's nothing to the Blalock-to-L.A. rumors.
Makes sense after reading that transcript.

KCAL 9's Gary Miller is reporting that the Dodgers and Andruw Jones have agreed to a two-year, $36 million contract.
MLB.com is also reporting it. Jones would get the same average annual salary as Torii Hunter, so in that sense, it's a victory for agent Scott Boras. He'd also go back on to the market at age 32, which hardly seems like a bad thing if he turns in a couple of productive years. Los Angeles may not the best place for him to pile up numbers, but if the Dodgers just had to move Juan Pierre out of center field, this was pretty much the ideal scenario for the team and player.
Dodgers needed some power and an upgrade over Pierre. For Colletti to get him for only two years (if true) is a good deal for the Dodgers.

    Pierre
    Furcal
    Martin
    Jones
    Kent
    Kemp/Ethier
    Loney
    Nomar

It's actually a hard lineup to put together. Do the Dodgers move Kemp/Ethier?

Yet another waste of fans' money going toward a player on the downside. Here's to Matt Kemp never reaching 300 at-bats in a season as long as he's in a Dodger uniform and Juan Pierre going from making a spectacle himself in center field to making a spectacle of himself in left field.

Re: Dodgers Make Offer To Andruw

Obviously this is not a good deal for the Dodgers. What I don't get is how could Jones be this shortsighted (or his agent anyway.) If I were in their shoes, Jones would be going to a small park that he could mash in and would have less ground to cover so his defensive metrics don't continue to slide as much as he gets older.

Who would think that Jones would land 18 mil per after the season he just had offensively? Wow.

If that retard keeps Pierre instead of both Kemp and Ethier, LA fans should rise up and slit his throat in public.

Kemp is destined to be screwed in LA it seems, if he isn't moved, it won't be due to a lack of trying.
