Surgery for Schmidt

Jason Schmidt will have shoulder surgery on Wednesday, the Dodgers announced.
The Dodgers didn't provide any details, suggesting that they won't know what's wrong until he's cut. Even if no major problems are found, Schmidt would have a very difficult time making it back this year. Odds are that he has some signficant rotator cuff or labrum damage anyway.

The best move Sabean made this offseason was not resigning Schmidt. He has been a problem all year and now it looks likehe might be out all year.

I don't think its as bad as many people think. They've been without him for a while earlier on in the season. Plus, I believe many of the fans in LA want Billingsley to start.

His ERA against the Padres was around 5.00 I believe. That's why we liked facing him.
