    Dodgers select Kershaw

    7th overall: Clayton Kershaw
    26th overall: Bryan Morris

Kershaw fell to the Dodgers' 7th overall pick, but that happened only because the Tigers stole Andrew Miller with the 6th. Lincecum to the Giants stung.

The Dodgers were rumored to be targeting Bryan Morris with the 7th overall, so getting him with the 26th overall was a coup, but they passed on Bard.

Once Miller made it past the Pirates, I thought the Reds had a chance at him too. Highly unlikely they would of drafted him, but still.

Bryan Morris though is a solid pick for the selection number, I would of thought that he would of went by #20.

And...bump. Luke Hochevar probably did us a favor by being a douchebag with his $$ demands. If we had kept him, the Royals would have selected Andrew Miller with the #1 overall pick in 2006, leaving the Tigers free to select the next player on their wish list, Kershaw. I like to believe that we then could have had Lincecum, but then again Logan has never selected a college pitcher with a top 30 pick, and it's been rumored that DePo called the shot on the selection of Hochevar with the 41st pick of 2005.

I'm just hoping he'll be better than Chad Billingsley. That's not too much to ask for.

Chad Billingsley has been looking pretty good over the last month.

I am really looking forward to Sunday and seeing this kid pitch. Billingsley is a good pitcher who can really strike em out.

I'll hold off on praising the kid until he makes it through his first start without allowing 10 earned runs in an inning or needing Tommy John surgery afterwards.

This guy is the real deal ansd should help the Dodgers contend this season as they try to keep pace with the D-Backs who have a good pitching staff themself.

Kershaw struck out 3 in his first inning. Although, Pujols did hit a run scoring double in the same inning, but he is Albert Pujols. lol
