    Kent On DL

Dodgers placed second baseman Jeff Kent on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 28, because of a sprained left wrist.
Kent received an injection on Thursday and might have been ready to play before his 15 days were up, but with Ramon Martinez also hurting, the Dodgers needed to free up a roster spot. The vacancy went to top prospect Joel Guzman, who could see some time at third base. Willy Aybar and Martinez will share time at second base.

Dodgers recalled outfielder Joel Guzman from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Playing in a hitter's park in a hitter's league, the 21-year-old Guzman was batting an unremarkable .291/.346/.418 in 196 at-bats. He's not ready now, and the Dodgers probably would have been better off just recalling Oscar Robles. What playing time he gets will probably come at third, with Willy Aybar occasionally shifting over to second. It's doubtful that he'll be worth using in NL-only leagues.

Glad to see they haven't moved Guzman to the OF yet.

    and Kent is ailing again...

    http://dailynews.com/sports/ci_4012613

Dodgers second baseman Jeff Kent was scratched from Tuesday night's game with Arizona about 90 minutes before first pitch after he felt discomfort in his left oblique during batting practice.

Kent said he injured the muscle swinging during one of his final at-bats in Monday's victory against the Diamondbacks.

He didn't sound overly concerned about the injury.

"(But) I'm concerned enough not to play," Kent said. "We're just trying not to make it a bigger issue than it is right now. If we rest it now, it might be better (today)."
It doesn't appear that he'll be headed for the DL though...
